FARMERS PROTESTING IN INDIA

FARMERS STRIKE IN INDIA

  • No Bharat bandh on 8 December, 2020 in Delhi
  • CM Arvind Kejriwal- house arrest on 8 December, told by him in a conference . He pointed out on BJP for his house arrest.
  • Shops, traffic and offices in daily routine no changes seen on 8 December declared as Bharat bandh.
  • A lot of people in Canada, New York and Australia showed support to Indian farmers.
  • Canadian Prime Minister also came in support of farmers.
  • Peaceful protest main cause of massive support and sympathy.

Farmers are protesting peacefully in different parts of India. Even Canadian, UK and Australian  citizens  also came in support of farmers. This is one of most heated topics in the world. Entire world is in support of farmers to reject bill as soon as possible. India is closed on 8 December,2020.

  • The Farmers's Produce Trade and Commerce Bill, 2020

Bill of price assurance and farmer services , which is passed by Lok Sabha on 17 September, 2020 by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers.

  • Benefits of this bill according to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi -                          According to government, bill helps farmers and traders to sell and purchase agriculture products as per their choice.
  1. No barriers for inter - state trade
  2. No charges are going to be imposed such as levy for sale
  3. Free to trade at warehouse, cold storage

CONCLUSION

As far as I have understood this bill, government want farmers to fix a price with wholesalers, retailers. This helps them to increase their sale and access modern technology really? I don't this so instead it  creates pressure for farmers to grow good quality products otherwise bear loss. In 2014 report 169 farmers die because of debt every single day. Isn't this a huge amount of death rate? It's time to be united as one and support farmers.
